Selena Gomez with Kamala Harris, to talk about voting

Selena Gomez attends the 2020 Hollywood Beauty Awards at The Taglyan Complex on February 06, 2020 in Los Angeles, California.

Selena Gomez just sat down with the vice presidential nominee, Kamala Harris, to talk about voting, and even teased a political collaboration if she and Joe Biden take office.

Believe it or not, the election has already crept on us. Only a few days left and many of our favorite celebrities have shared their voting photos and are considering voting.
At this point, I hope you’ve already voted early, posted your ballot, or
plan to vote before November 3.

I think Tuesday is the LAST day you can vote, not the ONLY day you can vote.

Anyway, our daughter Selena Gomez just spoke to Vice Presidential Candidate Kamala Harris on his Instagram page.
The two discussed everything from Selena’s ongoing battle with Lupus, to why she decided to vote, and Kamala even mentioned that she wants Selena to work with the White House on a specific issue if she and Joe Biden are elected.

Democratic vice presidential nominee Sen. Kamala Harris
PHILADELPHIA, PA – NOVEMBER 02: Democratic vice presidential nominee Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) takes the stage at a drive-in election eve rally on November 2, 2020 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, who is originally from Scranton, Pennsylvania, remains ahead of President Donald Trump by about six points, according to a recent polling average. With the election tomorrow, Trump held four rallies across Pennsylvania over the weekend, as he vies to recapture the Keystone State’s vital 20 electoral votes. In 2016, he carried Pennsylvania by only 44,292 votes out of more than 6 million cast, less than a 1 percent differential, becoming the first Republican to claim victory here since 1988. Selena, who has been open to not voting in the past, understood with Kamala why she made the decision to vote this time around.

To be honest I think in the past when I was younger I was not very educated about the voting process.

Over the past four years, I have been through a lot and feel that my vote now counts more than already.

As a citizen, as someone who really cares about their country, not voting is just not an option.

Selena and Kamala then spoke about important issues such as the Affordable Care Act and how Selena has been a voice for people struggling with issues like their mental health and lupus.
Kamala spoke to Selena about her sister’s lupus diagnosis and how difficult it was for their family.

Selena revealed that she dreams of opening a facility for people struggling with things like lupus or mental health issues where they could really go to heal.

I had so many dreams, you know, of creating places that people could go.

I think there’s a part of me that wishes we had some kind of place that looks okay, maybe you just need help.

Kamala totally agreed with Selena and said she looked forward to working with her “to address these issues.
But that wasn’t the only time Kamala teased Selena’s potential involvement in the White House if she and Joe win.

At the end of their conversation, before Kamala went offline, she mentioned that she wanted to involve Selena with the country’s approach to mental health.

“I look forward to working with you on the other side on mental health issues in particular. Thank you so much.”

Selena has been extremely open on her platform to her hundreds of millions of fans about her own sanity struggles, even revealing she has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder earlier this year.

So it’s no surprise that the vice-presidential nominee would want to tap her for some of these important conversations.
And fans couldn’t get enough of the idea of Selena working with the White House.
One person wrote:

“OMG YES Salt. and yaaas to Selena working with Kamala and Joe.
Let’s win this stuff all of you! “

Another fan said,

And this person added:

And we couldn’t agree more, we love that Selena uses her platform to encourage his supporters to go out and vote.
And we would like to see her become more involved in mental health care.

I had the opportunity to speak with Senator @kamalaharris and we discussed several issues that matter. Here is a clip of us discussing the importance of voting and supporting people with mental health issues. There is too much on the line this election for anyone to sit on the sidelines. We all must use our voices and vote. Vote EARLY, vote safely and try to vote in person or drop your ballot in a dropbox (that’s what I did and it couldn’t have been any easier). If you aren’t voting in person, please make sure you follow the instructions that come with your ballot carefully and do not forget to sign your ballot (it’s usually smart to use a blue or black ballpoint ink pen)!
